Welcome!
I'm Whitney Bird, licensed acupuncturist and doctor of Chinese medicine. I'm quite passionate about the medicine and my responsibility not just to treat, but to encourage and educate individuals and families to take charge of their own health. Whether you are looking to manage pain, recover from or prevent illness, improve sleep and digestion, or restore mental health, I'm here to support and guide you along your healing journey.

TREATMENTS OFFERED
Each individualized treatment is carefully designed for you, whether to relieve pain, reduce stress, balance hormones, or recover from dis-ease. My approach to health focuses on your body's structure, physiological systems, diet + nutrition, and your emotional and psychological state to help you live a happier, healthier life.

MIND-BODY ACUPUNCTURE
Dr. Bird is dedicated to the best ways to provide safe, effective care for every patient. Each treatment is tailored to your needs at that moment combined with constitutional balancing to achieve meaningful results. She utilizes modalities including acupuncture, cupping, electrical stimulation, and herbal therapy.

PEDIATRIC SHONISHIN
Using the Japanese treatment modality called Shonishin, or "little children needle," to activate the meridians and acupressure points to correct imbalances in your child. Shonishin works well to heal digestive, skin, sleep and behavioral disorders, and most common childhood ailments. There are typically several treatments in quick succession to resolve the imbalance quickly and thoroughly, and plenty of giggles and cuddles.
WHITNEY JACQUELINE BIRD
Licensed Acupuncturist, Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Hello!
Feel free to call me Whitney, Dr. Bird, or, as most of my little pals do, Auntie Whitney. She/Her, if you please.
My formal education in this medicine was from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine @ CIIS in San Francisco, where I received both my master's and doctorate. Since then I have been humbled to learn from and work under the the brilliant and generous TCM doctors Raymond Himmel and Danny Geren, and my very best teachers; my patients. I'm licensed by the California Acupuncture Board and nationally certified by the NCCAOM for acupuncture and herbal medicine.
If you've met me, you know my passion for the medicine is enthusiastic to say the least, and I treat every body that crosses through my door with that energy and care. My treatments often include acupuncture, cupping, shonishin, moxibustion, gua sha, breathwork, nutritional and emotional consultations, herbal formulas, and occasionally tuina or qi gong. I love homework, and prescribe plenty of it.
Outside of the clinic I work with Paradigm Treatment Centers, and volunteer with the Integrative Healers Action Network and Acupuncture Without Borders- which utilize the power of group healing for emotional and spiritual health.
I'm originally from Vallejo, CA, and have been a Marin resident (Coast Miwok Territory) for a decade. I am grateful every day to have the opportunity to practice the medicine I love in a place of such extraordinary natural beauty. When not in the office I can be found birding, hiking, foraging herbs, or exploring alongside my beloved partner Ed, our sweet pup Pippin and his rascally cat, The Doctor.
